The Haunted Palace – K-drama Episode 13 Recap & Review
Episode 13 Episode 13 of The Haunted Palace begins with a 100-year-old flashback. The enemies are getting close and King Yeon-jong makes a run for it. With nowhere to hide, Escort Officer Cheon Geum-hwi suggests his hometown, Yongdam Village. Unfortunately, on the way over, the enemies find out their location. King Yeon-jong decides to send a decoy to Yongdam so the enemies don't find his new safehouse. Cheon asks for time to evacuate the villagers but the King refuses as it would give away the ruse. With Choi Gil-song's signal, an officer ties Cheon to a tree and they all leave. The enemies slaughter everyone in Yongdam while searching for the King. At present, King Lee Sung is ashamed by his ancestor's cowardice and selfishness. Yeo-ri feels Cheon's guilt as he blames himself for the massacre. But he is not alone. As the 8-foot ghost, he has absorbed the grudge of all the murdered villagers. Gangcheori reveals that the villagers who survived turned bitter and vile. It is why he believes all mortals are loathsome beings. Meanwhile, the 8-foot ghost attacks the Crown Prince. However, the ghostbane stone keeps him away and Ga-seop comforts the prince. Back in the village, Yeo-ri spots Yoon Gap's soul. Gangcheori realises the ghost is scheming something but Yeo-ri has other problems. She wonders what will happen to Gangcheori after Yoon Gap takes back his body. Gangcheori is playful with her and Yoon Gap watches them from afar. In-seon is curious about them too and Yeo-ri flexes their relationship. Gangcheori teases her but he is surprised by the caragana plant suddenly blooming. A flashback shows Ga-seop explaining that caragana flowers have water energy which can help Gangcheori defeat the ghost. It seems to be a necessity as the Imugi's powers are getting weaker and weaker. Elsewhere, the King learns of Kim Bong-in's death and is upset. Paired with the shame of his ancestor's doing, he mopes. However, he does attend the one-legged ghost's ritual. Choi Won-u hesitates but ends up profusely apologising to the ghost which helps him cross over to the afterlife. As for the punishment, the King fines Choi and orders 50 lashings. While the retinue returns to the capital, Pung-san targets Minister Ahn, Kwak's peer and the one who had introduced the talismans. The blind shaman wins him over by promising to make him Chief State Councillor. Yoon Gap continues to watch as Mrs. Yoon dotes over Gangcheori. He is also upset when it is Gangcheori who cheers up a sulking King Lee Sung with some tough love. Gap is hurt that Gangcheori has taken everything important to him. We finally learn that Pung-san hopes Gap's bitterness will fester into an evil grudge. Onto the showdown prep, the King procures an identification tablet for Cheon Geum-hwi. Inspired by the one-legged ghost's resolution, he hopes to share his regret and apologise to the 8-foot ghost which should allow it to cross over to the afterlife. Yeo-ri agrees to hold a ritual 10 days later, on Cheon's 100th death anniversary. She does try to exclude Gangcheori out of concern but he refuses. Meanwhile, the Queen Mother tries to find closure. She is heartbroken when Yeo-ri reveals that Prince Yeong-in has been devoured by the 8-foot ghost. However, Yeo-ri lies that praying with his precious belongings shall set him free. The kid ghost calls her out but she points out the tenacity of a mother's prayer. The kid misses his mother and Yeo-ri helps him cross over as well. Pung-san's next phase is put into motion as Lord Ahn invites Gangcheori for a meal. The Imugi realises it is a trap but it is too late as he faints. He is taken home and he seems to be burning up. At the end of The Haunted Palace Episode 13, Yoon Gap wakes up in his own body. Mrs. Yoon is delighted to see that he is back to his old self. But Yeo-ri is worried by Gangcheori's disappearance. The Episode Review As the penultimate week, this K-drama is off to an exciting start. The Haunted Palace Episode 13 unravels all the remaining mysteries such as what happened in Yongdam Village and why the ghost is targeting one particular royal bloodline. Yoon Gap finally returns but is leaning towards the misguided villain role rather than the hero we all thought he would be. Gangcheori and Yeo-ri's romance is still pretty sweet even though the focus is largely on wrapping up the ghost conflict. And while it is quite sad how Yoon Gap feels replaced, the moments between Gangcheori and the King, Yeo-ri and Mrs. Yoon were quite heartwarming. It highlights just how much Gangcheori has changed from the beginning of the show. And finally, a shoutout to Sung-jae for portraying two distinct characters so well that we could identify Yoon Gap the moment he woke up in his body. Has The Better Sister been renewed for Season 2? Here's what we know:
Summary The Better Sister is the latest Amazon Prime Video Original. This murder mystery has everything from family drama and betrayals to sloppy investigations and shocking confessions. Amazon Prime Video determines whether to renew a show based on various factors such as completion rate, viewership numbers, production costs, and more. As of now, there's no news regarding the renewal of The Better Sister, but we look at the possibility of a Season 2. The Better Sister is another exciting Amazon Prime Video Original that graced our screens in May 2025. With complex themes of estrangement, mental health, domestic abuse and corruption, it's for those who are fans of thriller dramas. The 8-episode show stars Jessica Biel, Elizabeth Banks, Corey Stoll, Kim Dickens, Maxwell Acee Donovan and more. Based on the book of the same name by Alafair Burke, it is directed by Craig Gillespie who is known for I, Tonya and Cruella. With bittersweet moments and plot twists, the season finale will have viewers on the edge of their seats. If you've watched the first season and want to know if there will be a second, this article has all the details you're looking for. Here's everything we know: What is The Better Sister Season 1 about? The Better Sister Season 1 begins with the murder of Adam Macintosh, a rich and successful lawyer and husband to the equally successful editor-in-chief, Chloe Taylor. Chloe has the perfect life, is part of the upper echelons of New York City's richest and is known for her brand of honesty and sincerity. That is till Adam is murdered and her son, Ethan is targeted as the prime suspect. To make matters worse, the cops end up calling Chloe's white trash of a sister and addict, Nicky Macintosh, who is bitter that her sister stole her life. Not only is Nicky Adam's ex-wife, she is also Ethan's biological mother. As a high-profile case, Chloe's messy past is suddenly thrust under the spotlight, affecting her brand and her reputation. And with Detective Nancy Guidry hellbent on arresting Ethan, the estranged sisters must put aside their differences and work together to save their son and find Adam's real killer. We have extensive coverage of The Better Sister Season 1 on the site, including recaps for all episodes. You can find those HERE! Has The Better Sister Been Renewed for Season 2? At the time of writing, Amazon Prime Video hasn't renewed The Better Sister for a Season 2. Amazon tends to look at views and the drop-off rates before renewing or cancelling the show, along with the critical success. Some shows are instantly renewed like Reacher or Fallout while others take years such as THEM and Upload. Popular Amazon Prime Originals do get renewals most of the time but things look bleak for our 2025 show. The Better Sister has been labelled a limited series which means it will only have one season. What do we know about The Better Sister Season 2? Not much is known about The Better Sister Season 2 at the moment, given that it has not been greenlit. Not only is it a limited series, all of the plot points are wrapped up and most of the characters are given closure. There is no more source material to follow up on either. However, there is still the fact that Detective Nancy Guidry knows about Nicky which could always be explored. If the show does miraculously return, you can expect a season with approximately 8 episodes, each lasting around an hour. Nothing is confirmed yet, but we'll be sure to update this page as soon as any new information comes in. Would you like to see The Better Sister return for a second season? Or do you think the story has run its course? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Pit Babe (Thai BL) – Season 2 Episode 5 Recap & Review
Broken Trust Episode 5 of Pit Babe Season 2 begins with the X-Hunter team meeting at Pete's place to discuss Tony. Everyone is wary about what Toni could be up to. Babe suggests they try to track him down using his lab orders. Pete agrees it is a good idea and promises to look into it. Later at practice, Dean notes how well North has been doing. Soon, Babe, Charlie, and Sonic join them. Sonic announces he is leaving in a few days, and North is displeased. He immediately starts acting cold towards Sonic. Alan pulls Sonic aside and tries to persuade him to stay back for North. Unfortunately, Sonic says he is done waiting for North and is ready to move on. However, he promises to stay for a while, and North overhears the conversation. Meanwhile, Pete drops by the lab to talk to Chris. Chris insists they treat their one-night stand as just a bit of fun. Pete asks Chris to help him track down Toni through his lab order. Of course, Chris agrees to work with Pete after hours. At the garage, Alan pulls a muscle and decides to start an active workout routine. He is afraid he won't be able to keep up with his young boyfriend, Jeff. The next day, Babe takes him to the gym and teases him endlessly. Later, they drive to Alan's house to enjoy a barbecue with their respective boyfriends. Once again, Babe and Charlie tease Jeff and Alan with no mercy. Later that night, the racing teams meet for a night race. Willy starts flirting with Babe. Babe pushes him away, and he suggests that he can let Babe win if he becomes his. During the race, Willy manages to come head-to-head with Babe. However, he gives up at the last minute and lets Babe win. This pisses Babe off, and he confronts Willy. Charlie grows anxious seeing Willy and Babe talk so closely together. It doesn't help that Willy keeps trying his patience. Thankfully, Babe holds him back, and they leave. Simultaneously, North continues to ignore Sonic. At Pete's house, Chris assures him that he won't betray him. Chris allows Pete to use his powers to sense if he is lying. Once Pete is satisfied, they get down to a heavy make-out session in the pool. Things escalate to a full, steamy love-making session. After the intense sex, Pete passes out, and Chris sneaks into his office. He realises that Pete's password is Way's birthday and looks at pictures of Toni's victims. The following morning, things are still icy between Babe and Charlie. Babe assures Charlie there is nothing to worry about. However, Babe suspects Willy is an Alpha with special abilities and wants to get some proof. He ropes in Dean to help him know more about Willy. Elsewhere, our big boy, Kenta, decides to risk his life and infiltrates one of Toni's secure buildings. He is about to be caught, but Kim pulls up and saves him. Okay, can we admit Kim looked so sexy spinning that car like that? The man that he is! On the other side of town, Toni and Winner continue to work together. Toni is looking to make Babe suffer and is biding his time. Even though he knows that Kenta sneaked into one of his buildings, he is not worried. Speaking of Kenta, he and Kim pay Pete an impromptu visit. They find Pete getting busy with Chris. Pete asks Kenta to talk with Chris there, as he is no longer a stranger. Kenta tells him about his little dangerous escapade and gives him the hard drive he stole from the building. Pete asks Kenta not to risk his life again. After they leave, Kim asks Kenta if he still has feelings for Pete. Kenta doesn't deny the truth, but admits that he knows Pete doesn't feel the same way. Kenta feels unworthy of love, but Kim comforts him. He promises Kenta that he will find his person someday. A few days later, Babe gets more information about Willy. During their practice session, Charlie senses that Babe is up to something. He follows Babe to a spa that Willy visits. Babe starts flirting with Willy, but tenses up when Willy overpowers him. Willy doesn't fall for Babe's seduction scheme and demands to know why he is acting strangely. Babe finally comes clean and says that he wants to know if Willy has special abilities. Willy starts teasing him and suddenly pins him against the wall. Babe's towel drops, leaving him bare ass-naked. Unfortunately, Charlie walks in on them in this precarious position. The Episode Review I am too stunned to process that last scene fully. Where do we even start? Technically, Willy was sexually harassing Babe. Babe was adamant that he wanted to stop and come clean about his reasons for being there. Also, Babe didn't cheat, but Charlie has every reason to be angry. Anyone would be flustered if they caught their boyfriend in that situation. The thing is, Babe had promised he was not up to something, but he was actively seeking Willy out. Will Charlie and Babe make it through this latest blow to their trust in each other? We also have North, who is playing hard to get. Seriously, how hard is it for him to talk to Sonic and make his move? At this point, they just might not happen. Of course, we have Pete and Chris, who can't get enough of each other, but what is Chris up to? Why did he go through Pete's laptop? How does he know Way's birthday? Something feels fishy, but it is possible that Chris is neither a foe nor an enemy. It is too early to tell where his loyalty lies. Let's hope it lies with Pete! Previous Episode Next Episode

The Better Sister – Season 1 Episode 8 Recap, Review & Ending Explained
Episode 8 Episode 8 of The Better Sister begins with Nicky telling Chloe what happened the night Adam was murdered. Who kills Adam and why? Nicky checks in on Debbie, Adam's mother, from time to time, and is at her place when Ethan calls. He tells Nicky about the fight and is scared for Chloe. Nicky panics as he reveals that Adam has been hitting Chloe often. She gets ready to confront Adam and Debbie randomly comments how Adam and Chloe have left them, suggesting there is no love lost between mother and son. Nicky shows up at the beach house and threatens to expose Adam. She wants to talk to Chloe but a drunk Adam grabs her and tries to make her leave. She fights back and he chokes her. She has a pocket knife and she stabs him. After she leaves, Ethan arrives home. He finds Adam and thinks Chloe has killed him. He stages a break-in and is about to leave when Adam moves. But instead of calling for help, Ethan lets Adam die. Meanwhile, Nicky rushes back to Debbie's and cleans up. The pills she grabs are antibiotics for her injuries. And that's what she takes when the cops call her. How does Chloe handle Adam's murder case? Nicky worries that Nancy may put her in prison even though it was self-defence. Chloe promises to fix things and takes the knife. As for the gun, we learn that Nicky was going to cause a scene if Ethan had been found guilty. Later, Jake shows up and confides in Chloe about the Gentry investigation for illegal construction. They are in trouble from Gentry as well as Olivero, since they won't stop till they get what they want. And it is the dirt that Adam has on Gentry Group. Chloe reports Olivero for sexual harassment and physical abuse. She then looks around and finds the Gentry files. There is also a recording in which Bill orders Adam to extort Gentry. She makes a copy and sends it to Matt. She then gives the originals to Bill as a peace offering. While he is distracted, she hides Nicky's knife, the murder weapon, in Bill's study. After she leaves, Matt gets a search warrant and finds the knife. He arrests Bill for corruption and suspicion of murdering Adam. Why is Nancy unable to catch Nicky? Nancy looks into Debbie who has a criminal record for fraud using Adam's social security number. They are estranged as Adam didn't like his parents' wayward lifestyle. The cop visits her and tries to trace Nicky's whereabouts. Debbie reveals that Nicky forgot her phone when she stepped out for a while on the day Adam died. When she returned, she told Debbie that Ethan had been stabbed. Once she realises that Nancy suspects Nicky, she shuts down. It is enough for Nancy to deduce that Nicky used her phone's location as her alibi. Nancy texts forensics to check Nicky's DNA against Adam's clothes. Unfortunately for her, McCabe finds out that Nancy beat up Eddy. However, Eddy isn't the trafficker. She beat up the wrong, innocent Black guy. Nicky gives the proof to Catherine who publicizes it. The Lieutenant is forced to take Nancy off the case and put her on leave. Her request to forensics gets cancelled. He also points out that Debbie's testimony is hearsay from a grieving mother and Bill is the primary suspect. What's the deal with Gentry Group? Bill fires Jake to appease Gentry Group as he is the only other known FBI mole. Bill tells them that they have a mole too, who confirmed that Adam was working with the FBI. However, Bill looks out for Chloe and insists that he will take care of her. Jake goes to Chloe and we learn that Gentry built a stadium with indentured labour. The construction also involved violations of human rights and regulations. Adam felt guilty and went to the FBI. After he was killed, Agent Olivero blackmailed Jake into helping him. At the end of The Better Sister Episode 8, Jake is found dead, presumably killed by Gentry for being the mole. How does it end for the Macintoshes? Ethan is upset with Chloe for picking Adam over Nicky. Nicky defends her and claims Chloe only had Ethan's best interests at heart. Later, he confesses that he feels like the bad guy for letting Adam die. Nicky comforts him and he hopes to go with her if she leaves New York. When Nicky visits Catherine to take down Nancy, the editor asks her about the book deal which is pretty much confirmed. Nicky confronts Chloe who reveals she forgot to tell her because of the killer plot twist. However, Nicky doesn't care about the book deal and only wants to focus on her family. She asks where Chloe's loyalties lie and Chloe insists that it is with her and Ethan. Nicky believes her as she learns that Chloe framed Bill for Adam's murder. That night, Nicky and Chloe smoke by the beach. Chloe shares that the only stories worth telling are with her. Nicky agrees to the book deal. The Episode Review The Better Sister Episode 8 gets a little messy while trying to wrap up the Gentry storyline. They are never actually shown, so the threat involving them doesn't feel as real. And in turn, Bill ends up as a caricature of the magnanimous boss with a dark secret. Jake's death feels anticlimactic as well and we doubt his whining to Chloe brought about any emotions from viewers. Matt is yet another character who is underutilised and just around to crack some jokes, get made fun of, chase dead ends and finally catch a break courtesy of the way cleverer heroine who does his job for him. Catherine is another wasted character who acts shady but doesn't amount to much. She is just a spokesperson, first for the board and then for Nicky. Thankfully, the finale does justice to Chloe, Nicky and Ethan who honestly deserved a larger role in the story. His conflicting emotions involving his toxic parents can be quite relatable to many. Chloe uses her manipulative side for good and tricks Bill into taking the fall for Adam's murder. Sure, one tip from Nancy can have Matt confirming that Nicky is Adam's killer but the show doesn't seem to care about this huge plot hole. Nicky's sincerity is sealed, even though it feels fake at times given we personally don't think Chloe deserves it. With so many shady characters, Nicky stands out like a fish out of water as she genuinely cares for her sister. She goes as far as to confront Adam and tries tell Chloe that her husband hits her because he is…abusive? Thank you, Captain Obvious. Honestly, don't look too deep because the logic in this show is as flawed and flimsy as they come. Although we can appreciate the irony that while everyone thinks Chloe is the better sister, it is Nicky who deserves that mantle. All in all, this Amazon Prime Original is far from perfect, but Banks and Biels keep us hooked with their portrayal of two messy sisters struggling to stay afloat. Keen throws his shirt back on, asking the question. Thun explains their argument but not his previous relationship with Typhoon. Unsettled, Keen tucks himself into bed telling Thun to rest up for the fight. The next day, Thun weighs in then Keen takes him back to get ready, requesting a massage. Caught by the others, Keen ducks out to let Ait take over. READ MORE: Thai and BL drama reviews At the preceding fight, Win bets, triumphs and talks up Thun for the next match. While Typhoon gets his trainer to increase his dosage of whatever he's taking. After the needle, his veins seem to darken. Typhoon knows he'll have 12 hours of extra strength and then severe pain as it recedes. As the team sets up, Klao mentions that the judges may have been bribed in the previous match. Five rounds later, Typhoon and the Cannon are both still standing. But Typhoon is awarded the win via points. Petch immediately disagrees with the call but Thun is resigned. Backstage, Keen accuses Pakorn of owning the judges. With the press, Thun gracefully concedes saying he and Typhoon are even now. At dinner later, smiling giddily, Thun suggests it's like a date. Keen can't help but appreciate his expression, agreeing they'll eat out together more. Passing a game room, Keen is checking out the punching bag. But Thun is more interested in the claw machine toys. They win a boxing plushy at the punching bag with Thun landing the final blow. Ait and Win visit Keaw in the hospital. As they exit, Win asks if Ait will still do massage work on the side once the transplant is complete. He tells Ait that he'll take care of him so Ait agrees to focus on boxing. The Episode Review Typhoon's untimely call puts a dampener on things though it's only a matter of time for Thun and Keen. But to what could Typhoon have been referring? Their friendship? Their friendly matches? Or something more? And no matter what was between them, how disappointed will Thun be when he finds out Typhoon not only cheated but took drugs and risked himself to do it? Whatever is going on with his hulk-like blood vessels, it can't be healthy long-term. Even if the trainer tried to dissuade him. Meanwhile, during the fight itself, it didn't seem like Thun was holding back but at the same time, he was quietly pleased for his friend's win. Maybe he's at bygones now that he's found a love interest. Maybe he wanted his friend to take the prize. Then there's Win saying he'll take care of Ait. Sweet but doesn't it seem like it could be difficult for him to achieve? He lost the boxing bet and it seems like he has yet to pay that debt. Will Ait (and his little sister) really be able to depend on Win? What are your thoughts on these Knock Out romances? Drop-kick your views into the comments below.
